Day 3 dairies - it’s the weekend!
I was a bit concerned about being in lockdown over the weekend. Would I feel trapped inside or would it feel like just another day but without work?
I woke up at 8am which is really late for me. To say I didn’t feel well rested is an understatement. The ‘stay at home’ app decided that I needed to log my location every hour. That’s EVERY hour ALL night. I got up at 3.26am (hence the photo of my phone below) as I was wide awake. I wandered around the apartment for nearly an hour before I finally managed to get back to sleep.
I had seen some posts on the HK quarantine FB page about people receiving messages all through the night, but had also read that the govt were making changes to the app and the whole process to fix any issues.
Well clearly this issue is still on the ‘sort this shit out’ list.
I took the photo of my wrist band once around midnight and decided that was enough. If the quarantine police want to come and check on me in the middle of the night, then good luck to them. They wouldn’t be getting a warm welcome!
After a life changing coffee I joined a brunch video call with my family. It was fun to chat and have a few laughs, and I got to see Hamish and Luna. I’m a very proud auntie of those cute dogs!
I hit the gym (term used very loosely) then potted around cleaning the apartment and sorting kitchen cupboards. I had to deal with the ‘suitcase incident’ - don’t you love it when something in your toiletries bag leaks in your suitcase! I had put the soggy stuff in the guest bathroom on Thursday when I finished unpacking and had forgotten about it.
There wasn’t much to clean in the kitchen but I found a few things to toss out. But where to toss?? I still hadn’t resolved the rubbish conundrum! Well, the less said about the solution the better (because quarantine jail) but it’s been dealt with!
I had a load of calls and messages during the day. The upside of this world shit show is that people are really reaching out and looking after each other.
The weather turned bad Saturday afternoon so I had no desire to go out, not that that’s an option - but I’m trying not to think about that.
I had been thinking of ‘freedom’ drinks when this whole lockdown is over, but Carrie has put a spanner in the works of those plans.
Tbh I think stopping social gatherings and all of the other rules that have been implemented are necessary, but selfish me would really like a freedom party. Maybe I’ll have a virtual party. Btw Australia, stay at home and stop going to the bloody beach! The world is in crisis people!
Major life problem of the day: my nespresso log in isn’t working and my coffee pods are running low. Not because I od’d on espresso martinis but because ‘stay at home’ app dramas! Let’s hope it’s an easy fix.

I actually got through Friday night without hitting the booze cupboard. I spent some time on my balcony soaking up the view. I feel very fortunate to have a balcony and amazing views. Costs a bomb but at times like these, it’s worth every cent.
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. Stay safe and wash your hands.
Mood of the day: 8/10
Mental health: very good
Yearning to go outside: very low (because rain)
It’s great you have the balcony to give you a sense of space! In Australia they’ve now said social gatherings of only two people. That will sure cramp my style!!!
