Day 11 and all is going well
I’m on to day 11 already! When I started my quarantine I thought the 14 days would drag on for eternity but that hasn’t been the case at all.
It’s probably a good thing that I only have a few days of lockdown left as my geo band has become really lose.
I have to be very careful when I get changed as the band could come off really easily and we won’t want that to happen (because quarantine jail).
It’s strange that the band is lose as it’s made of paper with a plastic coating so it shouldn’t stretch at all. I’ve decided that I have lost weight in my hand - that’s an obvious explanation right?
Speaking of losing weight, this lockdown business was going to go one way or the other in a big way - there was never going to be any middle ground. I was either going to eat my emotions and stack on weight or be really healthy and focus on fitness. Well I chose the latter (because I expanded in Singapore) and I’ve lost 1.6kg in the first 10 days of lockdown.
I’ve been really challenging myself with my training, yesterday’s session was tough but 560 calories burnt is a great result.

I was such a dripping sweaty mess when I finished - this pic doesn’t show how bad the situation actually was!
I spent Sunday morning cleaning the house (again). I swear to god there is nothing in this apartment that hasn’t been washed, scrubbed or polished. And I have to stop having clean outs as I’ve tossed so much stuff there’s not a whole lot left. The laundry in the guest bathroom is the best idea ever. With the dehumidifier on the clothes drying setting, even my towels are dry within a few hours.
I was supposed to be in Melbourne this weekend to go to Maddie’s match. This fundraising game of footy between my beloved Saints and Richmond is a really special game. But obvs I can’t fly and the footy is on hold. Fox Footy are being really clever with their broadcasting, yesterday they showed a game between the Saints and Richmond from 2012. It was a great game and I may have jumped around the lounge room a bit cheering the boys (not as bad as a few years back when I was making so much noise during a close game that the neighbours knocked on the door - they thought I was being attacked!)
I hope that I can get to a game or two when the world settles down.
After the excitement of the game (we got beat but let’s not mention that) I decided to chill out.
I fired up a few candles, poured a glass of red and snuggled up on the sofa (it’s bloody cold in HK today) to check out the craziness that is Tiger King. I only watched a couple of episodes but look forward to more crazy antics from Joe Exotic. This show is madness but once you start watching it’s kinda hard to stop.
Mood of the day: mellow
Mental health: great
Steps: 10,656 (lockdown PB)
The need to go outside: I’m not sure I’ll ever go outside again
Song of the day: https://youtu.be/zXt56MB-3vc
Take care and wash your hands x
